Who we are
A small board and
a specific problem.
The GLP-1 Collective is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN 33-2783506, recognized by the IRS in February 2025. It was built by people who could not get a straight answer about these medications and decided to write the answers down.
Amanda Bonello, Founder and Executive Director
Amanda is an ACE-certified health coach with a weight management specialization and advanced training in anti-obesity medications. She founded the Collective after her own experience with GLP-1 access, and she funds its operating costs personally rather than through donations.
The advocacy work that came first
In November 2024, before the nonprofit existed, Amanda launched a national petition calling for affordable access to GLP-1 medications. It gathered 27,000 signatures and generated 400 public comments in the federal rulemaking process, and it led to nine media interviews. That work is why the Collective was incorporated in January 2025.
Other work
Amanda hosts the GLP-1 Studio Podcast, which Listen Notes ranks in the top 10% of podcasts globally and as the number 8 GLP-1 podcast. She is also the founder of GLP-1 Studio LLC and a co-founder of Cozy Butter LLC, which are separate for-profit companies and are not part of this nonprofit.
Board of Directors
The board approves the Collective's decisions, including every arrangement in which the Executive Director has an interest. She recuses herself from those votes and they are documented.

How we are funded
The Collective's operating costs are paid personally by its Executive Director. We do not run advertising on this site, we do not use analytics or tracking pixels of any kind, and we do not sell anything.
Some of the resources on this site were built by companies she also founded and are provided free of charge under royalty-free license. The Collective pays nothing for them and receives no payment, commission, or referral fee for hosting them. We say so at every point where it applies rather than only in the footer. Getting in touch
The contact form asks who you are up front, because a press deadline and a question about paying for a prescription do not go to the same place. You can also email contact@glp1collective.org.
