Where our resources
come from.
Several resources on this site were built by for-profit companies founded by our Executive Director. We think you should be able to see exactly how that works, so here it is.
The short version
The GLP-1 Collective pays nothing for any of the resources described below, and receives nothing — no payment, no commission, no referral fee, no revenue share — for featuring them. No money moves between the Collective and any of these companies in either direction.
Who we are
The GLP-1 Collective is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN 33-2783506, incorporated in Iowa in January 2025. Our founder and Executive Director is Amanda Bonello.
The companies involved
Amanda Bonello also founded GLP-1 Studio LLC, a for-profit company, and co-founded Cozy Butter LLC with Kim Carlos. Neither company owns, controls or is controlled by the Collective. They are separate businesses.
Tools and calculators
The calculators under Resources were built by GLP-1 Coach, operated by GLP-1 Studio LLC, and are provided to the Collective free of charge under a royalty-free license. They run entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is transmitted or stored.
News and law tracking
The reporting under News & Laws is written and published by GLP-1 Nation and GLP-1 Laws, both operated by GLP-1 Studio LLC, and is republished here in full with permission and at no cost.
Community
The community we point to is Cozy Butter, operated by Cozy Butter LLC. Joining is free. Some group classes and live sessions are sold by subscription, and the community carries advertising from a range of companies. The Collective is not involved in either, and receives no part of that revenue.
Meetups
We link to GLP1Meetups from our community page. It is operated by GLP-1 Studio LLC. Attending and hosting are free, and the Collective receives no part of anything that site earns.
Why we do it this way
Building and maintaining these resources costs real money. The Collective does not have it. Rather than offer patients nothing, we accept the use of them at no charge and tell you plainly where they came from.
Wherever possible we host the resource here, on our own site, so that using it does not require visiting a business or seeing anything for sale. Where we cannot — a community cannot be copied — we link out and disclose.
How these decisions get made
Decisions to feature a resource connected to the Executive Director are approved by the Collective's other directors, with the Executive Director recused from the vote, and recorded in our minutes. The Collective operates under a written conflict of interest policy.
Funding
We are an independent, patient-led nonprofit. We do not accept funding from pharmaceutical companies in exchange for endorsements.
Other things worth saying
- Media appearances by Amanda Bonello are made in her personal capacity and are not official statements of the nonprofit.
- Programs listed under Prescription Assistance are run by other organizations. We do not administer or control them, cannot guarantee approval, and listing one is not an endorsement.
- Personal stories and testimonials reflect the views of the people who wrote them.
